Who we are
Freshy ("the app", "we") is published by Adam Daniel Szalai. For anything related to your privacy, write to hello@replacementreminder.com. This policy covers the Freshy app for iPhone, iPad and Android and this website.
Data that stays on your device
Everything you enter into Freshy is stored locally on your device: the items you track, their categories, rooms and usage intensity, the dates you replaced them, your reminder settings (lead time, quiet hours, weekly digest), your language and unit preferences, and the impact estimates the app calculates from them.
This data is not uploaded to us or to anyone else. We have no server that holds it and no way to read it. It may be included in your device backup (iCloud or Google backup) if you have backups turned on, under Apple's or Google's own terms.
When you use the CSV export in Freshy Plus, the file is created on your device and shared only where you choose to send it through the system share sheet.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled by your device. No push notification service is used and nothing about your items leaves the device to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Advertising in the free version
The free version of Freshy shows banner and full screen ads provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC, or Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland). To serve, cap and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect: device identifiers (on iOS the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking, on Android the advertising ID and app set ID), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and operating system information, and how you interact with ads, along with diagnostic and performance data about the SDK.
On iOS, Freshy asks for permission to track before the ad SDK starts. If you decline, ads are still shown but they are not personalised using your advertising identifier. You can change your choice any time in Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
Ads are never shown to Freshy Plus subscribers. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses data from partner apps: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Purchases and subscriptions
Freshy Plus is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment and keeps the records of it. The app only receives what it needs to unlock Plus: which product you own, whether it is in a trial, and when it renews or expires. That status is checked with the store on your device and is not sent to us.
Crash reports and statistics
Freshy contains no analytics or crash reporting SDK of its own. If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple or Google may give us aggregated, anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. We use them only to fix problems.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. Its fonts are served from the site itself, not from a third party. Your choice of language is remembered in your browser's local storage and never leaves your browser. Like any website, the server that hosts it may briefly keep technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.
Why we process data (legal bases)
For users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: storing your data on your device is necessary to provide the app you asked for (performance of a contract). Personalised advertising relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time as described above. Showing non personalised ads to fund the free version, and preventing ad fraud, rely on our legitimate interest in offering Freshy free of charge.
How long data is kept
Data on your device is kept until you delete it. You can delete a single item from its detail screen, use Clear everything in Settings, Sample and reset data, or delete the app, which removes all of its data. Data collected by Google for advertising is kept according to Google's retention policies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no personal data about you on our side, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device. For data processed by Google for advertising, see Google's privacy controls. You can always contact us at hello@replacementreminder.com and we will help, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Residents of California and other US states: we do not sell personal information. The ad SDK may share device identifiers with Google for cross context behavioural advertising; you can opt out by declining tracking on iOS, by deleting your advertising ID on Android, or by using Freshy Plus.
Children
Freshy is a household tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
International transfers
Google may process advertising data outside your country, including in the United States, protected by the safeguards Google puts in place, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Changes to this policy
If the way Freshy handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. A significant change will also be announced in the app's release notes.
